A sword (and kilt pin) fit to represent a kingdom.

The most important sword in Scotland, the Sword of State is one of the Honours of Scotland, alongside the crown and sceptre, also known as the Scottish Crown Jewels. It was presented by Pope Julius II to King James IV in 1507, alongside a bejewelled hat. Although the hat went missing, the sword has remained a symbol of the Scottish kingdom ever since. It was even still carried before the opening of parliament and other state occasions until quite recently, although in 2023 it was replaced in service by the new ‘Elizabeth Sword’ as James IV’s sword became to fragile to use.

This is a premium quality hand finished pewter kilt pin finished in antique silver. It is sent in a simple presentation box.

The kilt pin is worn on the front of a kilt to prevent it lifting, although this can be worn as a large statement brooch in its own right.

Cast and finished at our workshop in Glasgow, Scotland, by our highly trained craftsmen.

Size 10.5cm long.

Be sure to have a look at our other kilt pins in the Swords of Scotland range, featuring other iconic blades from Scottish History.
