Full 8 Yard Kilt
DESCRIPTION
The 8-yard kilt is the gold-standard of kilt construction. Full-bodied with deeper pleats at the back, the 8-yard is ideal for any event you'll be attending. Our kilts, properly kept and treated, will last you a lifetime. Fully canvas lined with 3 buckles to ensure an excellent fit.
The kilt is machine stitched and hand finished from 8 yards of worsted wool, available in our full range of tartans. Completely made in our Glasgow tailoring workshop.

Pleating
Pleating at the back can either be 'to the sett' meaning it continues the pattern of the tartan, while 'to the stripe' means each pleat carries a uniform stripe from the tartan (see picture comparison above). You have the option to choose which colour stripe you'd like carried over in this option - just input which colour from your chosen tartan you'd like in the text box.

Dress Sporran: Pierced Celtic Knotwork
DESCRIPTION
A dress sporran made from real leather and the fur or fabric of your choice. The knotted metal cantle is open to show the underlying leather.
Made in our workshop in Glasgow, Scotland, by our dedicated craftsmen, using the finest materials.
Furs are a natural material and colours may vary from the pictures shown.
The back of the sporran can also be engraved with a personalised message, name or date.
The chrome finish gives a highly polished and shiny effect, while antique silver is more matte in appearance. The tassels can either be suspended by standard chains or by cross chains.
A free sporran chain is included. Please select the waist size you require.
This sporran is made to order in up to 4 weeks.

DESCRIPTION
Kilt flashes are decorative and functional garter worn below the fold of your kilt hose. They help keep your hose in place by giving extra support while adding a stylish accent to your Highland outfit.

DESCRIPTION
Traditional style wool rich hose with a single turn over.
The combination of 40% wool, 40% acrylic and 20% nylon make this a comfortable and durable hose suitable to wear in a pipe band or as part of a highland wear outfit. Available in a range of colours to match any tartan.

Kilt Pin Scottish Rampant Lion Crest
DESCRIPTION
The Lion Rampant has been the symbol of Scottish Monarchs since at least the time of Alexander II and the 1220s. ‘Rampant’ is a heraldic term for a beast standing on its hind legs, with raised claws, poised ready to strike. It represents the courage, bravery and ferocity of the Scots.
The kilt pin is worn on the front of a kilt to prevent it lifting.

Kilt Measuring
- Waist:
measure firmly around waist at navel (belly button) height.
- Seat:
measure around the largest part of the seat area.
- Kilt
Length: measure from over the very top of the hip at navel height (so the
measure curves over the top of the hip bone) to the top or middle of the
knee. As a rule of thumb, your kilt length should be no shorter
than a third of your height. It's always best to get someone to
help with this measurement, as you'll lean forward and shorten the length
when doing it yourself.
- Height:
provide this in feet and inches.
Don't worry if these seems daunting, it's not as hard as it might sound! We have many years experience making kilts for people of all sizes, and will check with you if anything seems unusual.
Jacket Measuring
- Chest: measure around the chest at under-arm height, while wearing a shirt or t-shirt, with your arms by your side. Note that this may not correspond to your usual suit size.
- Waist: measure around the waist at roughly naval height - in line with the top of the hips. *This is higher than where your trousers sit*. Let us know if you're wearing your kilt when you do this, as it can sometimes add to your waist or act as a girdle.
- Sleeve length: find a suit jacket you already own that fits well, and measure from the shoulder seam down to the cuff.
- Back length: measure from the nape of the neck (where the top of your shirt sits) to the base of the spine - where your tailbone sticks out. We use this, the sleeve length and your height to work out a proportional back length for the jacket. If you have an exact measurement for the back (ie if you've taken it from a well fitting jacket, from the collar seam to bottom) please let us know in the additional instructions box
