Celebrate your Irish heritage with our beautifully crafted Irish crest cap badges, each designed with a deep respect for tradition and authenticity. Our Irish clan crest range—more accurately termed the “sept” range—features the crests of over 60 historic Irish families. These crests were designed by the acclaimed heraldic artist Romilly Squire, who worked closely for years as a consultant to the Chief Herald of Ireland.
Romilly chose to focus on the crests rather than full coats of arms, believing that heraldry should remain elegant and clear, especially on smaller items like badges. Each crest is set within a traditional Claddagh circlet, symbolizing love, loyalty, and friendship, and includes the Irish-Gaelic rendering of the sept name. These designs are based on historical examples from the Irish Office of Arms and guided by the scholarship of Edward MacLysaght. You can learn more about the philosophy of our Irish Crests here.
Each badge is hand-cast in premium quality pewter and hand-finished by our expert craftsmen in our Glasgow workshop. Designed to be worn proudly on a Glengarry or Balmoral bonnet, the badge is positioned on the left-hand side, resting atop the rosette.
Measuring 5cm in diameter, these cap badges are both elegant keepsakes and meaningful symbols of Irish identity and pride.
