The piper is an icon of Scotland, long associated with the Highlands way of life and clan culture. The Great Highland Bagpipes developed from earlier pan-European medieval pipe sets to become the largest and loudest of this type of instrument. Warpipes are recorded at the Battle of North Inch in 1396 and a distinctive Highland type of bagpipe is detectable from the late sixteenth century.

Here we have a marching piper, in full number one dress of Kilt, doublet, piper's plaid and glengarry.

Premium-quality hand-finished pewter cap badge. Hand cast by our highly skilled craftsmen at our workshop in Glasgow, Scotland. 1000% lead-free pewter.

The cap badge is worn on the Glengarry or Balmoral bonnet on the left hand side, on top of the rosette, or these can be worn as standard brooches.

Size 5cm by 6cm.
