This pin is modelled on Brian Boru's Harp, also known as the Trinity College Harp, the inspiration for the iconic symbol of Ireland and certain famous beers. The harp dates to the fourteenth or fifteenth century (long, long after Brian Boru himself, but the name stuck) and is one of three surviving medieval Celtic harps to have survived all the way to today. It’s now one of the prized possessions of the Trinity College Library in Dublin, having been donated in 1782.

The design here is based on the iconic 1830 to 1961 form, before its restoration and widening, so this can sit nicely within our Heraldic pin range (be sure to look for our Unicorn, Dragon and Lions, with more to follow).

We’ve made this pin to such a size that it can be used as either a brooch, a large cap badge, or a modest kilt pin. The size is 58mm by 34mm. Affixed by a sturdy pin and ball-joint catch.

Choose from seven gemstone options, sapphire blue, emerald green, onyx black, ruby red, ruby pink, topaz orange and amethyst purple.

Completely designed, cast and hand finished in our Glasgow workshops. Delivered in a suitable simple presentation box.

The perfect gift to celebrate your Irish heritage.
