High-quality, lead-free pewter cast Clan Henderson Cufflinks.
Here we have a crescent between the upper points of a give pointed star, being held by an arm. The Latin motto translates as 'Only Virtue Ennobles' or 'Only Virtue Makes one Noble'. This is the crest of the present chief of the Hendersons, who descend from the Hendersons of Fordell in Fife. Their founder was James Henderson, who was made Lord Advocate in 1494. Prior to this the Hendersons had been a Borders family in Dumfriesshire and Liddesdale. The name means Son of Henry, and is the same as Henryson.
A seperate line of Hendersons emerged in the Highlands, in Glencoe, and the Gaelic rendering of the name is ‘Maceanruig’. They claimed descent from a semi-legendary Pictish prince, Eanrig Mor Mac Righ Neachtain, or ‘Big Henry, song of King Neachtain’.
These cufflinks are completely designed, cast and finished at our workshop in Glasgow.
