Hunter Day Sporran

This design is intended as a deliberate fusion of two traditions: the clean, practical lines of a modern-day sporran, and the more exuberant character of the Victorian hunting sporran. Nineteenth-century hunting sporrans were often unapologetically decorative, favouring a surfeit of tassels, knots, and elaborate detailing as a display of craftsmanship as much as function.

Here, that Victorian richness is reined in and reinterpreted for contemporary wear. The result is a piece that feels substantial and expressive without tipping into excess: decorative elements are carefully balanced against a modern silhouette, so the sporran remains wearable, versatile, and visually sharp. It nods to historical Highland dress traditions while avoiding pastiche, allowing the detailing to enhance rather than overwhelm the overall design.

The outcome is a sporran that bridges eras—equally at home with formal evening dress or as a standout piece for day wear—combining historical reference, thoughtful restraint, and modern practicality in a single, cohesive design.
