A laced short sword, a popular type of sword in late
medieval Scotland, especially among the middle status Clansmen of the
Highlands. This features the distinctively Scottish style of having the cross
guard facing forward. The laces added to the decoration and took the form of little
thistles. This was a popular way of presenting old swords in the Victorian
period, and so became a classic style of kilt pin, hence the inclusion in our
Swords of Scotland range.
